Are you one of the people who were complaining we haven't had much wind in the Midwest for sailing this year? Then you should have come to the Icebreaker hosted by Crescent SA in Detroit this past weekend! Warm sun and 10-15 mph winds (okay, a few lulls were mixed in) with some knock down puffs just to keep it interesting greeted everyone for three races on Saturday. Sunday started out around 12mph and kept building (and building and building) during the first race, blowing steadily over 20mph before the race ended. The second race for the day was canceled as it became apparent that it wasn't going to slow down (it was predicted to be over 30mph later in the afternoon). And yes, people went "swimming" each day! Plan on attending North Cape (LaSalle, MI) next weekend! If the skipper's meeting is just too early for you, there is a Motel 8 one exit South off I-75, and I think an Amerihost one exit North. If you want more info so you can get there Friday night, I'll find out! Just get there!!! Mary McNitt
